Innovation at the heart of what we do

Updated: Jan 12

The Innovation council is the first in our councils' conveyor belt. It investigates, selects and welcomes potential ideas and innovative solutions based on sustainability, digitalisation and deep tech that can support the delivery of the SDGs.

It performs the double-act of “investigator” and “accelerator” for new game-changing innovations. As such, it first feed these ideas and innovations into all the councils and in particular to the standards council. Once analysed, scrutinised and vetted, the successful projects can be implemented and developed through the innovation accelerator.

The council will use a number of tools to promote its activities. This will include exiting global hackathons to help to identify ideas and innovative solutions on specific topics. Do you think you have what it takes to take part in one of them please do get in touch with us!

The process we have in place will unearth potential groundbreaking solutions and technologies to support regional economical and environmental development projects to combat global wicked problems currently preventing us from achieving the SDGs by 2030.

The council supports match-making initiatives bringing together game-changing innovators from various backgrounds and start-ups linking them to business experts, entrepreneurs and investors. It will then encourage investors to direct resources into high-impact sustainable ideas, ventures and investments.

"G17Eco is uniquely positioned to match-make and enable this process because we have timely, standardised and transparent data. We can measure the impact and performance of each project and how it can impact the SDGs. " - Manjula Lee, Founder

In partnership with mission-aligned member organisations, our aim is to develop an accelerator programme for start-ups and SMEs, integrating traditional grants with dedicated funding for equity investment to support grass-roots and global innovative and entrepreneurial sustainable development. If you want to know more or to get involved please to get in touch with us.

The Innovation Council aims to build a network of world-class mentoring and business advice to support the pre-approved start-ups and businesses from early embryonic development stages of ideas generation, enterprise set-up, product development; through to final launching and scaling-up. Our members work hard with all our partner organisations to open doors and provide access to world-renowned knowledge, expertise and business consultants, leading corporations in various sectors, mission-aligned funding and relevant professional networks.

Ultimately, the council aims to release through scaleable projects and emerging thought-leadership trends vital innovative solutions. It will usher in the next wave of sustainable technologies and innovation that can move the needle globally for the delivery of the SDGs by 2030.
