“Fast fashion is everywhere – but we all know it’s wasteful. We want to inspire you to learn about sustainable fashion, to shop with us, and get involved with making and creative upcycling.
You’ll look good and know you’re doing the right thing!”
ReMode - a social enterprise in Paisley, West Glasgow - has recently developed a range of sewing Make Packs which include everything needed to make your own upcycled clothes and accessories at home.
During lockdown, ReMode, which is based on Paisley High Street, couldn’t run its normal in-person sewing workshops. As a result, they put together the packages to send to customers and volunteers so they could work on projects at home. They then began to make ‘how to’ films to go with the parcels, making them suitable for complete beginners to those with more experience.
And was such a success they’ve created more of the packs to keep the initiative going, thanks to support from the Scottish Government’s Adapt and Thrive fund.
